KOBAYASHI ARRESTED

NEW YORK, NY – Two hot dog eating champs had completely different experiences at a recent championship!
Takeru Kobayashi has experienced an unfortunate fall from grace. The former hot dog eating champion is facing legal charges in New York following an incident at Brooklyn’s Fourth of July hot dog contest.
Much to the dismay of spectators at the event, Kobayashi did not compete in the hot dog contest. He said that a contract dispute kept him out of Sunday’s competition. He did, however, manage an appearance, jumped on stage, and was handcuffed after wrestling with police.
The district attorney’s office said Kobayashi has been charged with obstruction of governmental administration. He’s also charged with resisting arrest, trespassing and disorderly conduct.
With Konayashi not in the competition, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut had a clear path at the annual Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest. Chestnut was a man amongst boys and cruised to his way to a fourth consecutive championship.
Chestnut downed 54 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the contest televised live on ESPN.
Chestnut told the press that he was disappointed with his performance, but he still did enough to claim the $20,000 grand prize.
After the contest was done, Kobayashi slipped on stage and caused a disturbance wearing a “Free Kobi” shirt. Security officials appeared and after a struggle they dragged him down the stairs.
“If Kobayashi was a man he’d be up on stage,” Chestnut said in a post-eat interview, perhaps provoking Kobayashi. The two have been main rivals for the best part of a decade.
