COP PUNCHES GIRL

SEATTLE, WA – One police officer’s actions has sparked nationwide controversy!
A stressful and hostile environment caused one officer to perhaps use more force than he should have. The officer struck a 17-year-old girl after she tried to intervene while he was scuffling with another teenage girl he had seen jaywalking, officials said.
According to the Seattle police union, the officer was justified in his actions as he was working alone amid a crowd and feared for his safety. Deputy Police Chief Nick Metz did say that the incident merits further investigation, however.
“We have some concerns about the tactics the officer used,” King 5 television station quoted Metz as saying. “We did feel what occurred did deserve a review by the Office of Professional Accountability.”
The video, shot on Monday, caught the entire incident and it’s hard to see how the officer’s life, or safety for that matter, was truly compromised. Walsh has been transferred temporarily to the department’s training unit, Seattle police said.
Seattle Police officers’ guild president Richard O’Neill said officers were wary of crowds that could turn violent.
“This officer, if you see on video, was surrounded by an ever-growing group,” he said. “This could have been a tragedy.”
An ever-growing group? Granted, there might have been some off-camera activity that wasn’t caught by the video. However, from what we see, the ever-growing group seems to be two rowdy girls, a blonde girl who seems content to be spectating and a young man who doesn’t seem to want to be a part of anything.
Not to take anything away from the girls, but instead of Walsh being reassigned to the training unit, perhaps he should be assigned some time in the weight room. His actions were certainly uncalled for and he needs a strict diet of protein shakes and free-weights to be able to handle his next encounter with a 17-year-old girl.

  1. The girls were breaking the law and clearly had no regard for the law. The officer’s reaction was definetly warranted. He most certainly was NOT out of control. The only racist in this situation is Rev. Al Sharpton.

  2. She interfered and assaulted an officer in a tense situation.
Yes, there is sometimes police brutality. Not in this case. Being a girl is no defense for not obeying an officer of the law. Being stupid enough to interfere with an officer doing his job should / will result in arrest &/or injury. Our police should never have to fail in their duties just because someone thinks they are above obeying an officer. I doubt when he stopped to call them for jaywalking he thought “Wow! This would be a great opportunity to punch a girl.” When the crowd gathered he was probably thinking he could be jumped by others if he didn’t get control of the situation.
These two beouches are damn lucky they had a run-in with this officer. In that crowd situation I’d have tased both of them for what they did.

  4. Seriously? Who wrote this garbage? So now we blame the officer for upholding the law? I dont care if it was a crowd of 2 or 200, that was a scary situation for that officer. He had every right to take matters into his own hands. It is not like he hit her without provocation. She came at him. I would have tazed her.

  5. The officer was acting in all his right. He is law enforcement. The Urban society is trying to turn this into a race thing. IT'S NOT!!! These girls assaulted an officer. I come from a community where we just lost a sherrif and police officer trying to PROTECT us. This is his job and that is what he is supposed to do. Absolutely no excuses for the girls. Thanks to all law enforcement out there for making sure we are safe always.

  9. You can't see all the people there, at first, because they are standing out of frame. But you can hear them when the punch is thrown. At the one minute mark of the original video, there are already a dozen people visible within 10 yards, and they are clearly not happy with the officer's actions.

  10. 2 girls acting like they did nothing wrong and have no respect for authority or common decency. I'm sure when the cops told them what they did they called the racism card. It's people like this that give the black community a bad name. They need to be taught about how life really works and that you won't get anywhere acting like this.

  11. Jay-walking ?? All this over Jay-walking ?? It was pure stupidity for a lone-white cop, in a black neighborhood to attempt to hassle ANYONE about Jay-walking.. Unless the area cops start hassling EVERYONE about jay-walking, I have come to the conclusion that this is just another power-tripping cop trying to push his authority around. And in case you're wondering, I'm white, have been in the exact spot where this incident was filmed and have witnessed MANY people jay-walking right in front of law enforcement agents and NONE of them were approached.

  12. Since when is it ok to shove an officer in the middle of trying to arrest a person who is clearly trying to get away? I was taught to respect police even when you disagreed with them! Good thing it wasn't her mother trying to do it… she would've been clobbered to within an inch of her life!

  13. yeah and all the other people were surrounding him and being very threatening. He was acting out of self-defense to solve the problem.

  14. Sigh. Yet another sloppy reporting job amounting to nothing more than mindlessly parrotting the "popular/scandalous" reactions the media takes when only that segment of the tape is viewed. Be nice if SOMEONE bothered to report on the entire event, from the start, to the middle, to the end, in an objective manner. Heh-heh. Blah.
