GINGER MCGUIRE

PHILADELPHIA, PA – One woman got more than she bargained for on a recent flight!

Flying can be a terrifying experience for many people, but airlines do their best to make any flight as enjoyable as possible. For the most part, flight crews are very accommodating and airlines are making changes to make their airplanes much more comfortable. Regardless of all the attention to detail, there is the occasional horror story from flying and Ginger McGuire certainly has one to tell.

McGuire is suing United Airlines after she was left alone on a plane for hours after it had landed. The Ferndale, Mich. resident was aboard a United Express flight from Washington, DC to Philadelphia. She says she fell asleep during the flight. It landed shortly after midnight Tuesday but no one woke her up until a cleaning crew found her hours later.

United Airlines says they are working with a regional partner carrier to determine why the plane wasn’t cleared upon landing.

“I fell asleep on the plane and next thing you know I wake up, it’s 4:00 in the morning. Nobody’s on the plane. Nothing,” McGuire told reporters.

McGuire has hired Geoffrey Fieger who is filing a lawsuit for false imprisonment, emotional distress and negligence. She is seeking $25,000 and $75,000 in her lawsuits filed to Wayne County Circuit court. The court alleges that after she was discovered four hours later by the plane’s cleaning crew, it alerted the Transportation Security Administration, leading to her being “wrongfully detained and interrogated.”

Horror Story? … I'm sorry this is not a child being left on a daycare bus. I've slept on planes, and yes, after not getting any sleep, (plus toss in endless hours standing at a craps table and booze) I'm a very deep sleeper and have never slept through a landing let alone a landing ,a take-off, and another landing. She had a ten hour lay-over … what, no time to sleep then? Maybe they should have had her blood analyzed that night. I'm sick of people suing for what comes down to their own stupidity.

"Horror story"??? At worst, she was inconvenienced. If I were UA, I would give her five bucks. They'd be nuts to offer her a free ticket, because then she just might find some other ridiculous thing to sue over.

She suffered no actual damage or injury. Give it a rest, grifters! I think she and her lawyer are just out to make a quick buck. Dig in your heels on this one, United, or there will be many more to follow! Her Fox interview made her sound awfully clueless. I doubt she'll be doing any more talking on the news.

Oh, and the other Ginger Mcguire on Facebook thanks you profusely for all of the nasty notes she is getting because of your silliness.

She at least got to sleep….abusing law at its best.
