ITALY – An individual with a tremendous heart won’t be sharing his positive attitude with the world anymore!
He Pingping, the world’s shortest man, has passed away in a hospital in Rome. Pingping was 21 years old and measured in at 2 feet, 5 inches tall. He was the third child of a family in Huade county, in the city of Wulanchabu, China.
Pingping was recognized as the shortest man in the world in March 2008 by Guinness World Records. He passed away Saturday after being hospitalized the past two weeks following complaints of chest pains while filming an episode for a TV show. The cause of his death was heart-related.
“From the moment I laid eyes on him I knew he was someone special – he had such a cheeky smile and mischievous personality, you couldn’t help but be charmed by him,” said Craig Glenday, Guinness World Records editor-in-chief. “For such a small man, he made a huge impact around the world,” he added.
Pingping was in Italy filming for a program called “The Record Show.” He was born with a form of primordial dwarfism. His family has requested that his body be returned to China for a proper burial.

Really sad that HE died, but perhaps if he didn't indulge in chain-smoking 2-plus packs of ciggies a day…who knows, the little man may still be alive to spread his positive attitude some more. He smoked full-size stogies, intended for normal-size adults; his little heart couldn't take it.
