DETROIT, MI – What you drive says more about you than how you drive!
A shocking new study shows that the car you drive reveals your personality. That’s the revealing conclusion of a five-year study by Detroit’s American Auto-Mind Institute that linked the personality traits and personal and professional habits of 1,514 diverse drivers’ and their vehicles.
“Cars have always been more than just simple transportation for the American people,” says Dr. Harry Cramley of the AAMI. “They are an extension of our true selves. What a man or woman prefers to drive says more about them than any Rorschach ink blat test or standardized psychological test. It’s truly a mobile mirror to their soul.”
Here’s a sample of what researchers say makes you tick according to what you drive.
PICKUP TRUCK. Back to basics is your style, whether it’s a mountain cabin or home on the range. You’re a handyman – or woman – who doesn’t mind getting your hand dirty.
VW BUG. You enjoy a healthy diet of bottled water and organic produce. You don’t believe in putting greasy fast food or sugary junk food into your body. You’re comfortable in close quarters and often dream of living on a commune like the ones hippies had back in the sixties.
SEDAN. “Keep it simple” is your motto and it’s how you conduct your life, on the road, at home and in the office. If you order pizza, it’s probably going to be cheese – no froufrou pineapple or artichoke toppings for you.
MOTORCYCLE. Four words: Born to be wild!
CONVERTIBLE. You love the outdoors and don’t mind sharing your passion and appearance with the world. You have few secrets and nothing to be ashamed of.
MINIVAN/STATION WAGON. You’re bighearted and have plenty of room for everyone’s baggage, emotional and otherwise. You love kids and you don’t mind a little clutter.
SUV. You’re a go-getter who sets a goal and doesn’t let anything stand in your way of achieving it as quickly as possible. Obstacles are only challenges to be overcome and whatever doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.
CLASSIC ANTIQUE. You appreciate a time when life was slower and simpler. You prefer chocolate malts to single malt scotch and pony tail on women, not men. You’d rather watch Bogart than Brad Pitt.
SPORTS CAR. Adventure and adrenaline drive you where you want to go. You value efficient, high-tech engineering and the risks that come with pushing the limits.
WIENERMOBILE. You are a very insecure man. You try to appear like a hot dog, but you drive a car with a 25-foot wiener on the top to make up for your obvious shortcomings.
