Little is known of the details which is how Salinger would want it.
While Salinger famously led a reclusive life, his eldest son, Matt sought the spotlight as an actor and even earned a role as a sleazy shrink on the show Picket Fences.
When he wasn’t acting Matt Salinger was a firefighter who bravely battled Los Angeles fires. In September of 1994, Weekly World News profiled the legendary writer’s son.
