WISHING ON A STAR REALLY WORKS

MELBOURNE – Your dreams are 46.5 percent more likely to come true if you gaze into the heavens – and wish for them on a star!
That’s the word from probability expert Kenyon Smith, who conducted a five-year study of adult men and women and found that those who wished for things “on stars” were much more apt to report that their dreams had, in fact, come true.
“This is highly significant,” said the Melbourne, Australia-based expert, whose exciting new book, When We Wish, is slated for a fall release.
“For one thing, it suggests that the probability of something happening can be influenced by thought and desire and possibly even supernatural intervention in human affairs.
“The implications are fascinating. But for the layman, it’s probably enough to know that wishing on stars can increase your chances of having a dream come true,” said Smith.
Smith decided to study the effects of wishing on stars after his 4-year-old daughter asked if the kiddie rhyme Star Light, Star Bright, which suggests that wishing on a star will make your dreams come true, was based in fact.
On a whim, he undertook the study. And he quickly found evidence to suggest that wishing on stars “is a smart thing to do.”
“I decided to keep the study going and as time went on, the validity of the rhyme became more and more evident,” said Smith.
“As a matter of coincidence, you would expect about 4 percent of people to realize their dreams after wishing on stars.
“But 46.5 percent goes way beyond chance. Clearly, there is a direct link between the way we wish and the chances that our wish will become reality.
“My study will continue,” he added. “Meanwhile, I strongly advise people to wish on stars if they really want their dreams to come true. You really have nothing to lose.”
According to Smith, most people who wish on stars follow these basic rules: “They make their wish silently on the first star they see at night,” he said. “And they don’t tell anyone what their wish was. They keep it to themselves.”

  2. At the age of 12 i had a crush on a guy six years older than me.He never even looked my way. Then i said the rhyme star light star bright and wished on the brightest star in the sky every night.I wished that i'd marry him some day.He then asked me out five years later. We are happily married with three kids and have been together for thirteen years. My wish took some time to come true but it was worthit.I'm living my dreams!

  4. about a week ago i wish on three falling stars, within a two nights. im not going to elaborate much, but one of my wishes was for true happiness. about three nights after, i had an epiphany, i woke up to questions i have never even concidered. and from that i learned that life is about, exploring, growing, and loving. i realized my full potential and i cant explain the happiness that i feel. i just feel like whatever path im on is the right one.
and the other to were similar and also came/are coming true.

  5. This is malarkey. Wishing on stars doesn't work! 😐 It was just coincidence those people's wishes came true. Wishes themselves don't come true either. Take it from a realist, guys. This is malarkey.

  7. Wishing falls in the same vein as praying…. Both place the mind in the ethereal state of conscious manifestation…. Everyone has the power to manifest in their lives….however, to what results any wish or desire may have would forever be subject to conjecture… Wishing is healthy for the mind and spirit, and must be believed to some extent if a wish's magical properties are to be realised… Anyone who is so real as to not believe in wishes, has let their childhood dream escape them, and thus, a very romantic innocence lost… Wishing is a fundamental part of who we are….because even if we dont consciously do it, it truly is how we shape our own realities….
