ZAPATERO DAUGHTERS PHOTO

NEW YORK, NY – The Spanish media has gotten a hold of a photo of Spanish Prime Minister Jose Zapatero and his family with President Obama.
Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has purposefully kept his children out of the limelight. Spanish media are never allowed to publish photos of them, so the picture that showed up on the US State Department’s Flickr account was a surprise.

Two right-wing papers, ABC and El Mundo, published the photo of Obama and his wife Michelle with Zapatero, his wife Sonsoles and their two daughters, Alba and Laura, aged 13 and 16, whose faces were blurred.
The only other photos of the girls ever published were just months after he took office in 2004, when they are only eight and ten. He asked the media to never publish their photos again, in order to protect their privacy.
However, it appears that several news outlets have run amok with the image, mostly due to the Gothic nature of the girls’ apparel. Both daughters are in  full black (as is the mother) but appear to be wearing Goth-inspired bracelets, necklaces and rings, heavy black eyeliner and knee-high leather boots.
The photo has since spread across the Internet, making it impossible for President Zapatero to have it removed.

  1. Theyu are simply hilarious. This picture places their father (ZP) as the real stupid he is. He eis unable to convince their "Friky daughters) to wear a dress according to the place they are going.
    Ridiculous!

  3. People, just remember something: in iberoamerican countries (Latin America, Portugal and Spain), names are built as follows: (FIRST NAME) + (MIDDLE NAME IF APPLIES) + (FATHER'S SURNAME) + (MOTHER'S SURNAME). Oftenly, this creates confussion among the anglo-saxon people. Following this last-name building logic, in anglo-saxon speaking countries, the very last word shown in an iberoamerican full name, is misunderstood as the primary last name (remember, in Iberoamerican countries, TWO last names are used).

  4. And…by the way, all these posts insulting Zapatero are completely RIGHT. He's a moron (I can not submit a stronger and more appropriate adjective due to censure). I'm currently suffering his stupid and out-of-logic decisions here in Spain.
