SHOE SIZE TELLS HOW LONG YOU’LL LIVE
September 4, 2009 by Maleeka SpriggsAn explosive new study confirms the mind-boggling findings of a team of Swedish researchers – your shoe size predicts how long you’ll live!
A recent survey involving thousands of men and women confirms the astonishing 1987 work of a team of orthopedic doctors in Umea, Sweden.
“As surprising as it seems, foot size does predict your life span,” said Dr. Hans Bjors, an epidemiologist from Stockholm who reported on the newest study.
“The original research involved a sample group of 800 men and women. This new study included an even larger group.
“We used computerized data to compare people from every area of Sweden. We studied the age at which they died and the cause of death and found that shoe size was definitely linked to longevity.”
While the studies found no direct correlation between shoe size and individual diseases, or between foot width and life span, they both isolated a definite link between shoe size and length of life, Dr. Bjors said.
People with half sizes fell generally in the logevity ranges predicted for the next larger size, Dr. Bjors said.
“We have no doubt people can live longer than their shoe size would indicate,” the researchers wrote in a research paper.
“But this would be true only if they adopt an unusually health-oriented lifestyle, with careful attention to diet and exercise.”
In both studies, the researchers compliled a shoe-size table giving life expectancy ranges for men and women in each size. The results are reproduced here for Weekly World News readers.
