I was definitely amused by the name and places. But after reading the above comments, I have to agree that I wouldn't know how I'd feel if I or someone close to me had a serious mental illness.

Regardless, the donuts are definitely awful. Not worth eating.

Great place, Doughnuts suck, But I like the place. Onlybecauce it offends so many lame people. I spent my whole life savings to save the whales, but I have never seen one. Does this make me a Psycho? wake up and laugh.

What pisses me off is that these unskilled donut servers and delivery people have the gall to call themselves nurses. Nurses are professionals who take care of real people and have college degrees in the field of nursing. These people who serve donuts should not have the title of Nurse, but perhaps "Psycho Techs". Nurses have a hard enough job as it is, without people confusing them for waitresses and service people.

if that doughnut shop is supposed to increase stigma against mental illness, will this one, the "heart attack grill", where burgers, depending on size and unhealthiness, are called single bypass, double bypass, etc., and the waitresses are dressed up as slutty nurses, create stigma against persons who have heart conditions? yeah, right.

It's bad enough that I get discriminated against. Now someone is making jokes about my illness and getting paid. All you above except one say what's the big deal. I'm sure if you had the illness you'd understand. Maybe we could have a donut store that made fun of cancer.
Call the donuts "chemo puke, at deaths door, under the knife, leukosite, breast removal, mega tumor". And we could have anorexics work there cause that's what people with cancer look like.
And wouldn't it be fun to laugh at the anorexics and try to force feed them donuts. Are you laughing now?

As a parent of a mentally ill child, I see Psycho Donuts reinforcing the stigma of mental illness. Do we really need to make fun of the weak and poor? A mentally ill person is weakened by the illness. They are barely able to function until they accept treatment. They are poor because many are not able to work because of their illness. Words and atitudes do hurt. The names of the donuts reinforce prejudices expressed as PSYCO, RETARD, LAME, etc.
They could accomplish the same thing by calling their shop Wacko Fun Donuts.
