It's not that gays like the word. They could have civil unions, but they don't want heterosexuals have a word that has been defined since biblical times…. no I'm not religious and very liberal. As it stands now the word marriage has other implications. An altruistic component in that couples are joining with the intention of bearing and raising children which is vital to the propagation of a species. If they can't change this definition, then it shows that their relationships are more hedonistic. This must really scare them… heterophobia indeed. One petty little blip in the history of mankind they want to change one of the pillars of our civilization. Now that's just Hedonistic.

The litmus test:

Ask a gay if they would be happy if the word marriage just disappeared????

Ask a heterosexual person???

Lastly, why does it have to be marriage? Is it because heterosexuals find this to be a sacred union? Obviously gays don't believe in the tenants of the bible as it states "man shall not lay with another man" and obviously it goes against the natural order of things since you obvious can't reproduce when you decide a gay community is superior to that of a heterosexual!!!!
