GWYNETH PALTROW DEFENDS GOOP

LONDON – Gwyneth Paltrow is responding to attacks on her website GOOP.  Critics claim the site is self-indulgent and out of touch with common people’s needs.  Paltrow shot back during a fundraiser for a non-profit that provides under-privileged inner city schools with free yoga instruction.

“I started this website because I felt like I had a lot of really useful information that ordinary women can use, and I was privileged enough to get, because I have this amazing, super fortunate life.  People who are criticizing it don’t really get it, because if they did, they would like it… yeah.”

On the site, Paltrow lists her favorite restaurants and hotels in various cities, tips on parenting, health, fashion, and recipes.

“Red beads are totally in this summer!  In Ibiza I wore a bikini made entirely of unbleached oyster shells accented with a red bead bracelet.  It was totally hot and super-green for the environment.”

To help relieve stress, Paltrow says, “I like to bathe in the milk of virgin goats.  It really helps get my mind off things, and their purity helps cleanse my aura.  If you can’t afford milk from virgin goats, the same effect can be had by taking a bath scented with jasmine oil and drying yourself off with several longhair kittens.”

On relaxation, she says, “We’re all too plugged in to the super demanding modern world.  Try living in a cabin without power or running water for a few days.  It’s a great way to get back in touch with the natural world and feel centered.”

With respect to parenting, she recommends, “Don’t be afraid to rely on your help staff.  It’s what they’re there for!  As a working mother you deserve some time to yourself.”

She also advocates hypnotherapy combined with deep tissue release for fussy toddlers.
