HOLLYWOOD, CA – Julia Roberts pulled in a generous paycheck for her new movie and she didn’t even break a sweat!
Julia Roberts, who stars alongside an all-star cast for the movie Valentine’s Day, used her reputation to cash on an unbelievable payday. Roberts is in the movie for a grand total of six minutes. Those six minutes of work brought the star a $3 million dollar paycheck.
Aside from Pretty Women and arguably Erin Brockovich, Roberts’ movies haven’t exactly wowed at the box office. Non the same, she remains a Hollywood A-lister. Valentine’s Day, which released today, contains other notable actors such as Jamie Foxx, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, and Ashton Kutcher, just to name a few. Not a single one of them can brag that they got as sweet a deal as Roberts.
For those of you that like math, we have it. Julia Roberts salary, when broken down, netted her $500,000 per minute on screen and about $11,982 a word – give or take a couple of dollars. But who’s counting? One more little nugget for thought, the whole entire movie only cost $50 million to make. This has to go down as the best six minutes of work that anyone has ever put in. Period. Bravo Julia Roberts! Bravo!
Wow!! Wish I was pretty enough to rake in the dough like Ms. Roberts! My fav film she was in was Flatliners (circa 1990) but I really haven't seen enough of hers to be a perfect critic on her overall acting
If they left Juila out, the budget would have been a mere 47 Million. And you wonder why we are paying $10.00 to watch a movie. She could have done that for scale, matter of fact most of the actors could have worked for scale, and maybe a percentage of gross ticket/DVD sales. Hollywood is like congress, spend spend spend and expect someone else to pick up the tab.
