JOHN MAYER "N WORD"

NEW YORK, NY – John Mayer, known as somewhat of a bad boy, has gotten himself in quite the pickle over his choice of words in a Playboy interview!
John Mayer has landed in hot water over his use of the “N Word” in a recent Playboy interview. As any celebrity does nowadays, Mayer took to his twitter page to apologize. “I am sorry that I used the word. I should have never said the word and I will never say it again,” Mayer proclaimed in a series of tweets.
In his interview, Mayer talked about sex, his former girlfriends Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson, and about black women and his lack of a “hood pass”, which by many were seen as racist comments. Mayer said, “Someone asked me the other day, ‘What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?’ And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a n—– pass.”
Mayer made sure that wasn’t his only controversial statement. In regards to his sex life, Mayer said he doesn’t date black women because his penis is “sort of like a white supremacist.”
His remarks have created a whole storm of controversy and outrage. “John Mayer should not open his mouth unless he is singing,” said Joell Ortiz on his Twitter page. Singer, Marwa, also added, “Damn John Mayer; he is racist.” This is certainly not Mayer’s first lapse in judgement. It almost seems as though once we start t forget about his last incident, he gives us something new to think about.
Clean up on aisles 1 through 10. You’re on mop duty John Mayer!

  1. 'Course now, if someone be an N in the gangsta/rapper culture and be sellin' music CDs peppered with the N word that be fine.
Just don't let no whitey mofos be using the N word, that be offensive.

  3. Well, about his use or misuse of the "N" word, I really don't know what to say in that respect. because the brothers knowingly have used It so terribly much that now It's sort of : doesn't sound good but ( whateve). And about his not dating black women, It doesn't mean anything at all, I personally know lots of black men that wouldn't date a black woman simply because they don't appeal to them. It just a matter of liking. Now let's get to the penis -thingy. the matter Is that his penis Is not a white supremacist It's just a quarter of an eanch, that Is really the matter.

  4. if a culture doesnt want a word used __DONT USE IT YOURSELF unless you want to be like the Jersey Shore A holes__I have Jewish friends never hear them call themselves Kikes__just my opinion__and I understand about using the a instead of the r to make "your own"

    • I hate to correct you (not really), but just because a few people use it doesn't make it alright to associate the entire black culture with using words like that. That's just like saying because Britney Spears is as dumb as a rock, so is the rest of the Caucasian population……….dumb

    • Grow up everyone has a right to like or not like anyone or thing they desire too. If he is proud of his race "white supremeist" or whatever he wants to call it, he has every right to be who he is and express himself in that manner. So black power …white power …jew power..whatever you prefer to stand behind it's your right too. Be proud of who you are and stop whinning about words.

  5. black people can say the n word and white people can say the n word. your no different from us unless your racist. stop playing the card. blacks call each other the n word all the time. whats wrong with a white person saying it wake up people.

  6. If he were black and made the same comments about "Crackers", would that be a big deal? He's not saying anything against black people, he just lacks tact and common sense. No big racial deal, but of course it will be blown up into a big deal.

  7. the problem is, John Mayer hangs out with Black people and he's carrying out in public how they "allow" him to behave in private. I mean one of his celebrity friends is Dave Chapelle for gods sake! With me being Black, you can say I should be offended… but I know enough to read between the lines. He's not a racist.

  8. There's a real simple lesson here…if it was "okay" to use the N word in any context, there would be no offense or controversy. True is, it is NEVER okay, anytime, or in any context. Stop thinking and using the word…simple as that.

  11. I would like to make a quick comment about the N-Bomb. The reason why this word is so offensive to black people is because it spawned from slavery.Just like any offensive word used to describe a race. What i don't understand is how you can hate someone because of a color.Like that old saying there is only one race– The Human Race

  17. All "Blacks" don't use the "N" word and all "Blacks" are not offended by John Mayer's comments. Some of the previous posters are using the phrase "blacks" in their comments, and making blanket statements about "blacks" and hypocracy, playing the race card, etc.. Frankly, I'm more offended by ignorant people grouping people together and making erroneous statements. What do they call that again? Oh yes, RACISM!
I AM offended by the words that John Mayer used in his interview. No John; using the "N" word and making degrading statements about women is NOT cool. You should know better. Not because you are an celebrity – because you are a grown up! Try leading by example for a change…

I wouldnt care if somebody called me a cracker or a honkey. I do agree with u about one thing tho. Spelling doesnt matter; its still the same word.

  20. Poor John Mayer. As a mother of a beautiful biracial daughter, his narrow-mindedness is elliminating some lovely young women. Beautiful brown-skined women who may have simply loved him. But then again he was talking about his penis, not his mind.

  21. Ok! Say if he never said the "N" word. What about the fact that he said he doesn't date black women because his penis is sort of like a white supremacist. But he did use the "N" word and white supremacist together. Just call it what it is (RACIST)!Could it be because he's the size of a peanut and can't satisfy a black woman? White people always fall back on their famous statement, "I'm not a racist, I have a black friend!" So freakin what!! Back in slavery the slave masters had black slaves working and taking care of their white kids. Some white kids befriended the black kids to a certain extent and the white kids, parents still had the little black kids as slaves. So Mr. Mayer should that change things because you have a black friend? I say NOT!!!

  23. honkey and cracker means absolutely nothing to "honkeys and crackers," There is no history behind those terms. Blacks never had the power to deny others their rights or harm there cultures and societies on a grand scale. So if a honkey gets mad about being called a honkey. He is either faking or "retarded" oh, my bad……thats the new word we can't use.

  26. It’s not the word. It's the image of a white person saying the word that's offensive. And that comes from history. From separate water fountains, to blacks not being allowed to sit a Woolworth Lunch Counter, to the right of a white child to tell black man to get to the back of the bus–and the cops and judges having the child's back. Laws were changed, and attitudes have improved. But all this whining about whites not being able to say that word shows a ridiculous lack of understanding and respect, and it speaks to an underlying resentment at the idea that a black person be allowed a single freedom not granted to whites.

    • No, it doesn't. It is the fact that using race as a factor is considered okay now, AS LONG AS it isn't in favor of whites, even though it wasn't coming from whites 50 years ago. That is ludicrous. Anyone who isn't a hypocrite knows that taking race into the equation at ALL but using it, like a bleeding heart will, to cry over, whatever the situation, is not helping anything! You are sprouting elementary school gobbelty gook. If you look outside your little textbooks, and into the world, you'd know that you are smelling nothing but red herring. So, to reiterate, people that happen to be white and who aren't happy with all the reverse discrimination going on are NOT racists!!!!!!!

  27. Funny, only white people make a big deal out of what other white people say. You would never see a Japanese get mad at another Japanese for calling a white person a "Gaijin," or a Mexican get mad at another Mexican for calling a white person "Gringo," or a black person get mad at another black person for calling a white person a "honky, cracker, peckerwood." White people have become racially inverted, meaning they hate themselves and are always pointing the finger at themselves. What a retarded race of people. American white people lost touch with who they are, that is, their European ancestry.

Again, I never hear any african american women speak of him in terms of a hunk or he's fine. Nothing. No women of color ever bring him up. I prefer african american men and that is my right and he has a right to his preferences. The part that was offensive was the way he voiced his preference. Loving my black berries!!

Whites who don't know their origins ARE European-Americans as opposed to Irish-Americans, just as Blacks who don't are African-Americans as opposed to Kenyan-Americans. Or: Blacks are Af-Ams just to emphasize that Blacks ARE Americans

  34. you don't have to be that harsh but I do agree to some extent. black folk just can't stop feeling sorry for ourselves and continue to pass the blame off on everyone else but ourselves. why do we persist to the way we are? simple, we continue to think that white folk owes us and so we continue to beg for pity. we must make the change as a people if we want other races to see us in a different light.
to hell with all this black this and that and african american BS – black, white, yellow or red – we are all americans – STOP THE SEGREGATION and stop perpetuating it NOW (BALCK &WHITE)

  35. As for more blacks in the hood, ah hello can we say trailer park!!! And i'm pretty sure that's hood..so lets not break up demographics. There are places that are heavily populated by whites or any other ethnic groups and to some, that area may be hood, so lets not get the term "hood" mixed up…So you're saying that all hood's are black, right? So that's your truth…my inner city living has transformed and is so diverse, but lets not get out of focus, so just because its become more diverse some don't see it as the inner city anymore, but Midtown, the orginal plans say "WARD" and that's what it will always be!! So my Hood is still a Hood it just has prettier landscaping now…so all the people that now reside, mostly white now live in the HOOD…case and point! So get it right! I love diversity and I have been exposed to it all my life, have u?

  40. Well said Mogul, guess he's not thinking. Black colleges exist because the white race at the time didn't want blacks in the same surrounds…duh!!! As for the NAACP again created because blacks were being treated unfairly in all aspects, i.e. school, work, etc, did you pay attention in school? And why not intergrate, Black colleges don't turn away people of other races, and affirmative action goes both ways. If a white, asain, or hispanic enters a all Black college it works the same for them as it would for a black or any other minority at a all white college! HBU's are proud to be what the are because they have survivied. As for all white schools they still exist, so don't feel left out Erik..you may not hate black people, but it damn sure sounds like you are wondering why we have anything that does not promote success, why question blacks when they are Proud of something? And as for NAAWP its one its just called by another name the KKK…So blacks are finally getting a foot placed firmly in society(those that are creating a postive light) and its BS??? Don't class all blacks by the ones that chose to live a life of ignorance, now that's BS!!!!

  45. All this "If he said cracker it'd be okay" crap is non-sense. How do you think it would go over if there were a bunch of white people and a black person called them crackers? I am Black, and personally, I don't think anyone should use it, white, black, etc. Any person with common sense knows not to say it, especially a famous white person. He obviously did it for attention like he always does. Should a white person get in more trouble for using the word, maybe. I'm not the judge of that, but to expect people to let it go while confederate flags are being used for more than "Southern Pride" is somewhat dumb.

I say good for John Mayer. The guy spends a ton of time working at his craft, then gets paid tons of money to do it cause he great at it. So he is enjoying himself, having fun likeany 20 something year old should. People need to re learn how not to be so hypersensitive. A word can't kill you, or rape, or bankrupt you or ruin your life. It's just a word.
John Mayer is just a regular dude enjoying success. Listen to his music because its good, and worry a little about yourself.

  56. Let's study the history and live in the present. A word only connotates what the sender intends. This may be positive or negative. Those who know John Mayer know he is not a racist. We can't assume all "White people" are racist because they use the N word. And don't tell me for one second that "Black" racists don't exist. How come we don't speak out against them. A double standard does exist. You can't see that because you don't live in our shoes. White people come from many ethnic backgrounds with plenty of persecution both in the US and globally. Past and present. Polish, Italians, Irish, Russians, French, and Jewish have all struggled in their past. One more thing….. Is Birdman really that good…or is he just white. Am I right Mr. President?
