If your favorite piece of jewelry is a bracelet, you probably love life and have a great deal of determination, so says a psychiatrist.

Dr. Emery Wilson adds, “Earrings, bracelets and rings are all vital ways of self-expression, so the jewelry you wear reveals your personality.

“But to really find out what personality type you are, you should examine your most frequently worn iems. Your favorite piece of jewelry is a dead giveaway.”

Dr. Wilson named some other pieces of jewelry and explained what they mean about the person who wears them:

Bracelet – You are a vivacious, sparkling, dynamic individual who goes after what you want.

Earrings – If your favorite jewelry is a pair of earrings, you’re probably a proud, secretly bold person who doesn’t want to get lost in the crowd.

Religious symbols – If you wear a cross or a Star of David more than other items of jewelry, you’re likely idealistic, sincere, extremely loyal and very dependable.

Rings – Choosing a ring over other jewelry shows that you’re probably a level-headed, down-to-earth person. But deeper than that, the type of ring you choose also reveals something about your personality.

A wedding band shows you care about your family and traditional values.

A dazzling diamond ring usually reveals a person who wants the world to know that she is someone to be reckoned with.

Dr. Betty Schwartz, a psychiatrist, agreed that your favorite piece of jewelry reveals a lot about you. Here’s what the following pieces of jewelry reveal about people:

Ethnic symbols – If your favorite piece of jewelry is a pin or pendant that tells the world about your ancestry, you’re probably a thoughtful, orderly person. You likely are a trustworthy friend.

Assorted jewelry – If you have a favorite piece of jewelry for every outfit, you’re likely to be sensitive, artistic and sometimes shy. You are an orderly and well-groomed person who is not given to emotional outbursts.

No jewelry – If you prefer not to wear jewelry, you’re probably a self-confident, down-to-earth person. You may be blunt at times but people appreciate it.

LAS VEGAS, NV – A multimillionaire gambler is suing a casino over plying him with alcohol and drugs to keep him playing!

Terry Watanabe is the former owner of the Oriental Trading Company, an import/export business he sold in 2000. Since then he has touted himself as a professional philanthropist.

However, Watanabe’s penchant for gambling got the best of him, as he says he lost more than $100 million at Harrah’s, a Las Vegas casino!

But Watanabe is claiming the company coerced him into compulsive gambling. By 2006, Harrah offered to move him into their Caesars Palace, as well as 15 percent cash back on monthly table losses of $500,000 or greater, and $12,500 transportation reimbursement and a $3 million line of credit! He also claims that the casino promised to wait 60 days before cashing any markers he lost.

By the end of 2007, as his losses became unmanageable, Harrah’s not only increased his credit limit, but provided him with an unending supply of alcohol and pain killers.

Watanabe says he began gambling for multiple days in a row, “with little interruption of sleep…Harrah’s executives and employees knew or should have known…that Watanabe was rapidly running out of money.” He was often so inebriated and sleep deprived “that at times he became unconscious at his private gaming tables or slot machines.”

Watanabe is filing his lawsuit because Harrah’s is trying to claim $14.75 million he wrote in bad checks. It is unclear how much Watanabe is suing for, with charges including fraud, breach of contract, conspiracy and negligence, but considering Watanabe claims he bet more than $825 million in 2007 alone, it is likely to be significant.

COLUMBIA, SC – A severely obese man stayed in his recline for almost eight months before passing away.

911 received a call from Tillmon Webb’s mother, stating he was suffering from pain. Paramedics arrived to find the 800-pound 33-year-old stuck in his power recliner.

Firefighters were forced to cut him out of the chair, as well as cut a hole in the wall to take him out through, before transporting him to the hospital where he died of a heart attack.

His wife, Ada, explained that he had hurt his knee in March, although they pleaded with doctors to keep him for help with his weight, the couple could not afford it and he was sent home.

Once he sat down in the chair, he was never able to get up again. Paramedics believe he never left the chair in the eight months leading up to his death, and Ada verified this, saying she cleaned the chair daily.

His wife also claimed Webb didn’t ask officials for help, because he was ashamed of his state and did not have health insurance. The former preacher posted sermons online daily but was resigned to his fate. He apparently wanted help with his weight, but Webb and Ada had no way of getting him to anyone.

“He just kind of said, ‘it’s in God’s hands’ at that point,” said Ada. He spent the rest of his days waiting to meet the Lord.

BRAZIL – The contestants got catty at this year’s Miss Brasil Gay when one contestant went after the winner’s wig!

A somewhat misnamed competition, Miss Brasil Gay is a contest featuring Brazilian drag queens, each representing a different state of Brazil. Citizens flock from across the country to attend.

While it has been relatively drama free in the past, this year’s competition has drawn international attention, after a losing contestant vented her frustration on the winner!

LONDON – A set of British parents believe they have seen Michael Jackson in their baby’s ultrasound!

Dawn Kelley and William Hickman are expecting a child next March. Kelley went for her 20-week ultrasound scan, to discover that her doctor couldn’t see the fetus’ stomach.

She was then sent a few weeks later to another medical center for a more powerful scan. It was there that they received the very detailed image.

Kelley said they were going through the pictures later on, and Michael Jackson’s face jumped out at her!

The father said, “I showed my daughter Ami, who’s six, and she saw it straight away, so I thought, ‘Well if she can see it too it’s not just me seeing things’.”

They have shown the rest of their children, Chris, 16, Amanda, 15, Jason, 13, Alisha, 10, Ami-Lee, six, and Kye, four, who all agreed it was his face.

Kelley said, “I’ve had plenty of scans before and none of the photos have ever looked like this one. It’s a bit spooky really.”

They know the child will be a girl, so no Michael Jackson Jr. here.

NEW YORK, NY – The New Oxford American Dictionary has picked their word of the year: ‘unfriend’!

The New Oxford American Dictionary is the North American English version of the New Oxford Dicionary of English, based in the United Kingdom.

Every year, the company tracks how the English language changes and chooses a new word that seems to reflect the mood and interests of the population that year.

For 2009, they picked ‘unfriend’, which originated as an action on online social networks like Facebook and Myspace. It is the act of removing someone from your network that you had previously added.

“It has both currency and potential longevity,” said Christine Lindberg, Senior Lexicographer for Oxford’s US dictionary program. “In the online social networking context, its meaning is understood, so its adoption as a modern verb form makes this an interesting choice for Word of the Year.”

The Dictionary considered other words in a number of fields, such as technology (sexting), economy (funemployed), politics (birther) and the environment (ecotown).

ANCHORAGE, AK – The popular program of answering Santa’s letters from the “North Pole” is being discontinued!

The program was started in 1954, in the Alaskan town of North Pole. The Postal Service had noticed letters arriving in the town addressed to Santa, and decided to organize a group of volunteers to respond to the thousands of children who wrote.

The 2,100 person town of North Pole prides itself on its Christmas connection, with stores like Santa Claus House, light poles that look like candy canes and streets called Kris Kringle Drive and Santa Claus Lane.

But the mood has changed, now that the USPS has declared it would no longer be running the letter answering service. This is mostly due to an incident last year, when a registered sex offender was recognized volunteering for Operation Santa! He was stopped before he could answer any letters, but the repurcussions have been felt nationally.

While the Operation Santa program will still exist, letters addressed to “Santa Claus, North Pole” will no longer reach the Alaskan town. And considering the residents only just found it, a dark mood has settled over the community.

Said Mayor Doug Isaacson, “It’s Grinchlike that the Postal Service never informed all the little elves before the fact. They’ve been working on this for how long?”

Unless a change is made in the next couple weeks, it is likely the cancellation will be permanent.

SAN DIEGO, CA – An elderly man nicknamed the “Geezer Bandit” is believed to have robbed five different banks!

The thin, gray-haird man appears to be in his 70s, but is usually hiding underneath a hat and sunglasses in surveillance footage.

His most recent robbery was just this past Monday, when he aprpoached a teller at a Bank of America in La Jolla, California, and showed her a gun. He hander her a note demanding cash before fleeing on foot.

Police believe he has hit four other banks since August 28th. At one heist, he was spotted carrying an oxygen tanks, with tubes going up into his nose.

Officials are offering $16,000 for information that leads to his arrest. Because of his gun, they do consider him armed and dangerous, and ask citizens not to approach him if spotted.

AUCKLAND – A team is traveling to Antarctica to drill for century-old whisky!

A team of restoration workers from New Zealand’s Antarctic Heritage Trust are heading to Antarctica to recover whisky abandoned by the 1909 Shackleton expedition.

British polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton attempted to reach the South Pole, but was forced to turn back, almost suffering starvation before catching the departing ship.

The crates of whisky were discovered in 2006 under the Nimrod Expedition hut’s floorboards, but they were too frozen in. The team will recover some of the bottles, but due to conservation rules, must leave the rest.

A sample will be sent to the new owners of McKinlay and Co., the company which made the whisky over 100 years ago. The master blender, Richard Paterson, will attempt to replicate the taste and put it back on sale.

“I really hope we can get some back here. It’s been laying there lonely and neglected. It should come back to Scotland where it was born,” said Paterson.

But the leader of the recovery team, Al Fastier, will be abstaining. “It’s better to imagine it than to taste it,” he said. “That way it keeps its mystery.”

NEW YORK, NY – A bride has sued her wedding photographer for publishing semi-nude photos of her!

Bride Sara Botswick was married on September 20, 2008. She decided to hire a photographer from Christian Oth Inc., as they have been rated one of the top 10 wedding studios in the world by American Photo magazine.

That is why the photographer’s behavior came as such a shock. Bostwick claims in her suit that she “forbade” Carolyn Monastra from taking photos of her while she was getting dressed. However, the photographer proceeded to take photos “of plaintiff’s person in her underwear and in various stages of undress anyway.”

To add insult to injury, Monastra included them in the online wedding album, for both guests and strangers to see!

The studio agreed to take them down, but only moved them to a special password-protected area of the website.

Bostwick is claiming the events caused “severe emotional injuries, including post-traumatic stress disorder.” The studio has yet to comment.
