NEW YORK, NY – Bat Boy rang in the New Year the only way he knows how: with good-natured mischief.

Continuing with tradition, Times Square hosted the annual New Year’s Eve ball drop, in which a time ball is lowered down a pole during the last minute of the year.

This year, the redesign of the ball doubled it’s size, making more than enough room for our favorite little mutant to take a ride!

Security noticed a dark figure clinging to the back of the ball around 11:51PM. They quietly attempted to get him down by using chocolate covered mosquitoes as bait, but Bat Boy was on a mission.

When the clock hit 11:59PM, the ball began it’s slow descent and Bat Boy scrambled onto the top. He raised his arms in triumph and sent high-pitched squeaks ringing across Times Square.

The cameras attempted to film only the lower-half of the ball to keep his victory pose out of the shot.

As the ball stopped and 2012 began, amid the chaos, confusion and confetti erupting through Times Square, Bat Boy was able to slip away, avoiding police apprehension.

The NYPD has not yet released a statement on whether they will issue a warrant for his arrest.

NEW ORLEANS, LA -  A leading psychologist  wants to prove whether Santa Claus really exists by not buying presents for their kids this year!

Dr. Joseph Pernell says we “will never know if Santa is real or a hoax unless we stop delivering toys for him and see if he picks up the slack.

“People think I’m joking but I’m as serious as I can be,” continued the expert.

“As a longtime student of Christmas legend and lore, I have always been fascinated by St. Nicholas.  And though intellectually I’m not convinced, in my heart I know he exists.  I believe in Santa Claus.”

“I know as well as you do that he’s not some elf living at the North Pole. But in my heart of hearts, I still believe that has the power to reward the innocence of childhood and make miracles happen.

“Crazy? Romantic? Maybe I am. But if we don’t try something like this, if we don’t put a stop to this mindless commercialization of Christmas, we’ll never know the truth.

“This is the year we can pull together and celebrate a Christmas like no other. If children find toys under the tree, we’ll know Santa is real.

“If they don’t, we’ll know Santa is the figment of our collective imagination and a symbol of the way we would like things to be.

“I urge every parent to join this crusade,” he added. “We all can play a role in this historic crusade.”

If Dr. Pernell’s Christmas sentiments are fanciful, his search for the truth about Santa Claus is not.

By urging parents to withhold presents from their children, he is setting the stage for unimaginable heartbreak when – and if – the little ones wake up on Christmas morning and find empty stockings.

The potential economic impact is even more frightening, considering the terrible recession America is still going through.

Without Christmas sales, toy manufacturers and retailers would be in dire straits, industry analysts agree.

“The crusade has an upside and a downside, too,” admitted Dr. Pernell, who’s promoting his crusade through interviews and on talk radio.

“Regardless of what happens on Christmas morning, the truth about Santa Claus will pay dividends for years to come.”

NEW YORK, NY – Heidi and Seal show that there is still plenty of fire in their marriage!

Heidi Klum has certainly been the fantasy of any warm-blooded male over the years. The sexy model has shown that she has more to offer than just her looks – she’s a successful fashion designer, television producer and successful business woman.

NEW YORK, NY – Bat Boy has stepped aside as the Bachelor – opening the door for someone else!

A little bit ago, Weekly World News reported that Bat Boy would become the newest Bachelor. The long-running series which helps individuals find true love had decided to take a new direction to shake things up. The producers hung their hat on the idea of Bat Boy courting 25 women and helping America’s favorite mutant find true love. Well … that idea has slowly unraveled – but for good reason.

Bat Boy has found a cause that pulls at his heart a little more than finding love. He has teamed up with Bat Conservation International in hopes of putting an end to the epidemic sweeping the nation known as White Nose Syndrome. With his priorities in check, Bat Boy stepped aside and the Bachelor needed a new leading man.

Enter Brad Womack – again! Womack appeared on the show’s 11th season in 2007 and angered millions of fans when he left the final two women, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft, heartbroken by not choosing either of them. His actions earned him the title of “most hated Bachelor ever.”

“I’ll tell you why I’m here again – I believe it can work,” he said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday. “I don’t care if people call me an idiot or don’t believe those words coming out of my mouth. I truly believe that it can work. So here are 25-30 women that I never, ever would meet in regular life. I’m clearly doing something wrong – I’m still single. So why I not? I really do believe that this can work.”

Talking about his first shot on The Bachelor, Womack said, “It was really tough to have 13-14 million Americans call you a jerk. So I spent a year or two, maybe three, defending myself adamantly. NEW YORK, NY – It’s Lil Wayne’s birthday and the rapper has made a shocking announcement!

Lil Wayne turns 28 today and he’s made this day a very special one. The “best rapper alive” has a knack for making his birthdays both extravagant and newsworthy. For his 26th birthday, Lil Wayne received a Louis Vuitton briefcase with $1 million cash in it. For his 27th, the rapper got a $1 million diamond-encrusted Chopard watch and a birthday cake covered in real diamonds. Although he’s behind bars for this birthday, that’s not stopping him from making it just as exciting.

Lil Wayne has thrown out a double-whammy. First off, he dropped his newest album, “I Am Not a Human Being” LP, digitally at midnight on Monday (September 27) so his fans could celebrate Weezy’s birthday with a load of otherworldly flows and soundscapes. Any album that Lil Wayne throws out there is always met with much anticipation and high expectations. Even behind bars, the Young Money CEO gets cake everyday (that’s code for “makes money”).

While that is certainly great, Lil Wayne’s second announcement might be even bigger. It’s no surprise that Weezy could use a slight image makeover. From his partying to his drinking “that purple stuff” and his drug possession to having more kids than he can count – Lil Wayne hasn’t exactly been a role model for society. With that said, Weezy is taking a step in the direction to becoming a more positive influence. He’s announced that he’s reached out to PhD Ape in the hopes of getting his image back together.

“I’m not some young gun anymore,” Lil Wayne told Weekly World News. “I’m 28 and only getting older. It’s time for me to focus on the things that matter – family, music and the fans. I won’t lie – I’ve had a great time. But being behind bars has given me a lot of time to think. And not being on that purple stuff has certainly allowed me to think clearly. It’s def a good move for me and I hope PhD Ape will kick it with me.”

PhD is a master craftsmen in his own right. He can turn even the most dysfunctional of individuals into model citizens. The harder the case, the more joy PhD Ape seems to get out of it. Working with a multi-winning Grammy artist would be another great highlight to his already impressive resume.

“Lil Wayne is as talented as they come,” PhD Ape told us. “However, amidst all the lights, fame and attention – he lost track of where he was heading. He got mixed up in the wrong things with some of the wrong people. No big deal. He’s 28, but he’s an old 28. He’s been in this industry for a long time now and he’s seen his fair share of things. Honestly, I just think he needs someone to talk to – it should be easy to put him back on track.”

Perhaps if PhD Ape works his magic – as he always does – Lil Wayne could team up with Bat Boy and help fight the ongoing epidemic that is White Nose Syndrome….

Katy Perry is seemingly on top of the world. Any song she puts out seems to just shoot up the charts. Her looks are unbelievable – almost like a dream – because it seems impossible for one individual to look so good. She’s engaged to funnyman Russell Brand and the wedding is right around the corner. It’s almost as if she can do no wrong…

Joe Levy, Maxim’s editor-in-chief put it best, “It’s that feeling you get when you suddenly realize that the smartest, funniest, coolest girl you know also happens to be the best looking and a pretty good skateboarder too. The video just hit the Internet but has yet to be aired on the show itself … that’s because it’s not going to air at all. The show has had to put the video on the shelf due to an overwhelming amount of complaints from parents.

NEW YORK, NY – The cast from the Jersey Shore is like a virus that has no cure!

If you think you’ve seen a lot of Jenni (J-Woww) Farley on television, wait until you see her in print.

According to RadarOnline.com, the “Jersey Shore” star has been offered a whopping $400,000 to pose nude for Playboy.

But before fans can fist pump with excitement, a few hangups may be preventing the photo shoot from happening. In addition to the deal not yet being finalized, J-Woww’s contract with MTV may reportedly prevent the busty brunette from posing in her birthday suit.

“Talks have been going on for a long time now and the highest offer she has received is $400,000,” a source told Radar.

Even if she decides to show a little less skin, J-Woww could still make a pretty penny from the impending deal. Though negotiations began at $200,000, the 23-year-old will reportedly receive $400,000 if she decides to show full nudity.

Posing in the buff may not be an issue for the self-proclaimed “guidette,” who has an affinity for flaunting her over-the-top assets on the hit MTV show. When asked about posing for the men’s magazine, the reality star sounded eager for the opportunity.

“Final offer is standing. Hopefully, it will go through,” she recently told E! Online, adding that she may pose as soon as winter arrives.

How much will she show? Fans may have to wait and see.

“It hasn’t been talked about yet,” she said.

NEW YORK, NY – One man’s sacrifice is a story worth telling!

While this story isn’t weird or outlandish, it is so touching that it deserves to be told. It’s incredibly sad, but has a truly touching ending. Brian Wood was a loving husband and a soon-to-be dad. He was so close to perhaps the happiest day of his life (becoming a father) but his life was unfortunately cut short. Wood died in a car crash, but it was how he died that is truly amazing.

Wood was a 33-year-old lead designer at popular game developer Relic Entertainment. He spent his life thrilling millions of faceless gamers, but his last moment was one of incredible sacrifice.

He was on his way back to his Washington home when his wagon was struck by an oncoming Chevy Blazer being driven by a 21 year-old woman believed to be driving under the influence. With his wife Erin in the passenger seat, Wood swerved his car and put himself directly in the path of the oncoming SUV – a decision that ultimately cost him his life, but protected his wife and unborn child from harm. Two other passengers riding in the backseat of the Blazer were also killed.

“All the policeman say that if we had hit the car head-on all of us would be dead,” Erin Wood told The Province. “At the very last second Brian braked really hard and turned right so that he would be put in the path of the SUV and not me and the baby, and that is the only thing that saved us both.”

“He was always sacrificing himself for me and the baby,” she added.

While his death is tragic, it sparked an incredible movement symbolized by hope, support and appreciation. The same people who Brian strived to please with his work have returned the favor with a striking show of support for his bereaved widow.

A memorial trust was set up within days of the accident. Countless game developers, journalists and fans posted links on Twitter and Facebook, leading to literally thousands of supportive comments, messages and financial donations, prompting Erin to send an open letter to the gaming community to popular game blog Kotaku.

“Brian always told me about how close-knit and wonderful the video game community was, but I had no idea until this tragedy just how special a group it really is,” she wrote. “From all the articles and comments, to the emails and donations, I am simply stunned and so touched by the love, kindness, and generosity shown to me and my family.”
