TOKYO – The wife of Japan’s new Prime Minister believes she rode a UFO to Venus!

After a landslide election victory, Yukio Hatoyama will be taking over as Prime Minister in just a couple of weeks. Though he may seem very straight-laced, Japan is very familiar with his wife’s eccentricities.

In a country that encourages conformity, Miyuki stands out in countless ways. She began her career in the Takarazuka Revue, a famous all-female singing troupe that performs romantic musicals. While married to her first husband, she met Yukio in California where he was studying engineering. Her subsequent divorce and marriage to Yukio was a scandal for his family.

She has since gone on to write “lifestyle” books such as Welcome to the Hatoyama Home, Miyuki Hatoyama’s Spiritual Food and Miyuki Hatoyama’s Have a Nice Time. But it was in a book of interviews, entitled Most Bizarre Things I’ve Encountered, that she revealed her UFO experience which occurred during her first marriage.

“While my body was sleeping, I think my spirit flew on a triangular-shaped UFO to Venus,” she said. “It was an extremely beautiful place and was very green.” Her first husband suggested that it was just a dream. “My current husband has a different way of thinking,” she said. “He would surely say, ‘Oh, that’s great!’”

Miyuki also believes she had a past-life friendship with actor Tom Cruise. “He was Japanese in his past life, and we were together so when I see him, I will say, ‘Hi. It’s been a long time,’ and he will immediately understand,” she explained.
